LANGUAGE: English (US) ONLY
MATERIALS AND TOOLS:
- 4-ply/Fingering or DK/light worsted yarn in green, blue, brown, orange, ochre, turquoise or aquamarine and a tiny bit of beige or gray I used Scheepjes Catona in Parrot Green (241), Midnight (527), Sweet Orange (411), Ginger Gold (383), Tropic (253), a tiny bit of Caramel (506) and Scheepjes Stone Washed in Brown Agate (822) as brown
- 2.5mm crochet hook / Size B-1 or C-2, depending on how tightly you crochet
- Black and white embroidery floss
- Fiberfill
- Stitch markers
- Yarn needle (preferably with bent tip)
- Large-eyed sewing needle
- 0.8 to 1mm thick craft wire
- Superglue
- Flat pliers (optional)
- Sewing pins
- Scissors
SIZE:
The peacock’s train of feathers will be about 27 cm/10.5” wide. The peacock will measure 13 cm/5” tall (feet to tip of centre feather).
If you would like him to be larger or smaller, you can use a different yarn weight and adjust the hook size accordingly.
CONSTRUCTION:
The head and body are crocheted in one piece. The beak, wings and train of feathers are sewn on. The eyes and pattern on the feathers are embroidered. The legs and feet are made of craft wire. The tail feathers are reinforced with craft wire.
