Update - this is the third update, sorry for all of these - I noticed how unclear the written pattern was so I updated for clarity. I also realised there was still typos on the pattern and that the edge pattern was missing some rows both on the chart and in the written pattern. Additionally I changed the k2tog tbl in the skirt back to skp stitches so that they don’t present as twisted. This should be it for updates for now, sorry! If you have an old version of this please download the new one. Cheers!

Hi!

I have finally gone and written out a pattern for this massive project. This pattern originally used Erquy by Army of Knitters as it’s inspiration, but there’s now quite a bit of difference between the two. It also incorporates bits of the Spanish Peacock chart by Meg Swansen, and the skirt design is heavily based on a piece done by Irina Makarova.

Please note this has been designed to be worn over an underdress with a full tulle skirt to support the weight of the skirt, especially if beaded. It’s currently untested for size small and size medium, I’m currently working through a test for size Extra Large so at this stage the yarn totals for sizes other than size Large are an estimate. I had a few people ask me if there was a pattern for this so I knuckled down, did the math and here we are. This pattern is definitely for medium to advanced knitters, familiarity with lace charts is recommended though I have written down the pattern as well.

There may be some errors and funky stuff, please let me know so I can amend them.

Note: If swatching the Haapsalu yarn , it’s about 10% smaller than the Wool and Works Suri Silk Lace weight, as such size up by one pattern size and you should be fine.
