Brioche knitting is a simple multicolor technique where you can mix your favourite colors and yarns to be unique and playful! Two-color brioche is unique and results like two different shawl - You can wear both sides. Work brioche pattern in color indicated (MC or CC).

This pattern is ideal for an adventurous beginner and is fully written and also includes charted instructions (video tutorials and photos). Check both. It has been thoroughly tested. If you are charted person, follow along with them or if you prefer written instructions follow along with them over there.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: 59” (150cm) wingspan x 21” (52cm) height at spine. All measurements taken from relaxed fabric after blocking.

YARN: MC yarn: Sports weight , Drops Alpaca yarn (100% alpaca) or other the same gauge/weight yarn.
50 grams (1.76 ounces) / 182yards (166 meters)
Yardage: 3 balls Drops Alpaca, colorway olive. Approx 436yards (400m), 120gr.
CC yarn: Also Drops Alpaca
Yardage: 3 balls Drops Alpaca, colorway grey. Approx 420yards (390m), 110gr

My shawl weighs about 230 gr. Note that is you use diferent wight yarn or diferent needle sizes, the yardage, weight and dimensioon of your shawl may differ from mine.

GAUGE: 23 sts x 30 rows = 4“ (10cm) square in Brioche Stitch. Measurement taken from relaxed fabric after blocking

NEEDLES: 24” (60cm) or 32” (80cm) circular needle 3.5mm / US 4

OTHER TOOLS: tapestry needle for weaving in ends, cable needle for br4st dec, stitch markers

Adventurous Intermediate
You should be familiar with two-color brioche knitting (slipped stitches worked in conjunction with yarnovers)
Techniques Used: Brioche Knit (brk), Brioche Purl (brp), Brioche increases and decreases, Stretchy Bind-Off (or the I-Cord Bind-Off). Previous experience working Basic two-color Brioche is not required, but it is recommended.
