Peaks and Valleys Shawlette
Life is full of ups and downs…peaks and valleys. The secret to making the most out of your life is to use the mountaintop memories to give you hope and joy when you are in a valley and to never forget the important lessons you learn while passing through a hard period of time. This shawlette is all about life’s peaks and valleys. It is a traditional top down triangular shawl comprised of a maze of twisted cables that form the moutaintops and lowlands. The lace border is a chevron pattern that echoes the ups and downs theme. I used Madelinetosh’s sport weight Pashmina yarn (2 skeins and 360 yards per skein) in the iridescent color of Opaline. The finished shawlette is 70” long across the top, and 25 ½” deep at its center, deepest point after blocking. Complete written instructions with row counts and charts are included in the pattern.
