(Note: Peanut the Bat cannot actually hang upside-down)

Peanut is a long-haired fruit bat from the mountain forests of Kenya. She’s just discovered that bats are commonly part of something called “Halloween” – she’s not quite sure what it’s all about, but it seems to involve lots of yummy sweet treats! That said, she would prefer a nice piece of fruit the rest of the year (bananas are her favourite!)

For this pattern you will need:

• 15g brown DK yarn
• 3.5 mm crochet hook (UK 9, US E/4) (light pink in pictures)
• 8 mm safety eyes
• Stuffing
• Scissors
• Darning needle (dark pink in pictures)
• Any crochet hook smaller than 3.5 mm to weave in loose ends (dark blue in pictures)
• Stitch markers to keep track of the end of your most recent round (and to help you place the safety eyes)
• 2x 14 cm craft wire (for the wings)

Difficulty: No complex stitches, little bit of sewing, involves surface crochet and the use of craft wire.
