Peas of Mind
If you wish to support me, you can buy me a coffee
Will it be a fidget toy, a key-chain, play food or just something cute you cannot resist making?
Edamame are young soy beans often served still in their pods. You have to “pop” the beans out the pod to eat them, which I find really enjoyable, hence the inspiration for a fidget toy!
October is ADHD awareness month, and I’m publishing this pattern on the last day, that’s very on brand isn’t it? People with ADHD like myself can often underestimate how long something will take, or postpone things to the last minute (the anxiety that kicks in is a strong motivator).
If you want to learn more about ADHD and all the misconceptions surrounding this condition, I recommend “How to ADHD” youtube channel
Pattern has a chart and written instructions.
I might make a photo or video tutorial in the future, let me know if you’re interested!
Hook: 3 mm
Yarn: Small amount of Drops Safran (5ply sport)
Beans inside the pod: 10mm round plastic beads
You can use any yarn, cotton is great as it’s soft, strong and easy to wash. Use the hook recommended for the yarn or a size smaller for a neater result. You will probably have to experiment to see what size bead can fit in.
Pattern hasn’t been tested as it’s free, so let me know if you find any errors and I will happily fix them :)
