Peasant Scarf
This pattern evolved as I was using up some ribbon yarn I had lying around. The variety of lacy stitches reminds me of those peasant blouses I used to wear.
The pattern would work well with any worsted weight yarn, but lends itself especially to novelty yarns. It’s a great one for using up yarn scraps as well.
Gauge is not crucial; instructions are included to adapt to any size you want.
The size I made is close to the size desired by Handmade Especially for You, the charity which gives comfort scarves to battered women in domestic violence shelters. They don’t require their scarves to be machine washable, so you can really go wild with the yarn you use!
The scarf pictured will be headed there as soon as I pull together a few more scarves to send with it.
