Memories of summer days at the beach usually make me think of sand between my toes, but occasionally we would also visit a pebble beach which was a place filled with its own special kind of magic.

The stitch designs used on this scarf are reflective of the pebbles on the beach (the eyelet section) and the waves lapping at the shoreline (the cables). A simple yet beautiful stocking stitch section fills the rest, surrounded by a delicate seed stitch border.

This pattern is easy to memorise, making it the perfect knitting project for a relaxing evening in front of the TV.

It is knit flat, using simple cables and lace, and would be a great introduction to following charts for knitters wishing to advance their skills.

Gentle blocking is advised so that you don’t lose the texture of the cables. Just make sure to achieve clarity for your seed stitch border and the eyelet section.

This pattern has been tech edited and test knitted for errors and clarity.

Thanks to Bronwyn Hahn for tech editing and to my test knitters Catlover8, Alijw2, barbarawilliams59, Nadine, and Sandra.
