The name drifted through my mind when I saw pictures of scallopes in different shades. To create the shells of this stole you knit allover in garter stitch using short rows for shaping. The separation rows add to the airy look. I use this method to avoid holes in the fabric while doing short rows.

A fun knit but you have to have a look at it and will get very relaxed while counting the few stitches back and forth. A wonderful meditation which I enjoyed as much as knitting my Morning Hour Shawl.
