Pedestrian Crossing Cowl
This is a free pattern and is written for an adventurous beginner. This is essentially a lace pattern, so make sure your skill set is ready to take this project on! You need to now how to knit, purl, yarn over, knit two together, slip slip knit, and more to be successful.
Please know that this pattern has been knit more than 800 times, tech edited, and test knit. There are no errors in the pattern. I also cannot provide one on one help or knitting lessons. This is a free pattern and you will have to seek support for your knitting from another source. Thank you for understanding!
I encourage you to search for videos on Youtube to help you if you find the stitches to be challenging.
The borders are designed purposefully not to be equal, to show more “weight” toward the bottom and less toward the top (hence why the border at the bottom is thicker than the top) which forces people to look toward the face of the person wearing it! If this is not your preference, you can kit what you’d like!
NOTE: The one row button holes are an Elizabeth Zimmerman technique. I did not create this technique. If you do not understand the instructions or want to simplify consider a yo & k2tog substitute. The button placement is not exact to allow for the knitter to place as they choose, due to differences in gauge, yarn choice, and button size!
