This hat has a lot of fun factor! As you can see, the little cat, ghost, and spider make a cute ornament on a toque if you don’t care to make the button-down Pop-Up Top. The hat can also be left plain…make the Toppers as little pocket pals or also perfect for cat toys!

Yarn: #4 worsted or aran weight yarn: orange; small amount green. For toppers, small amounts of black, white; red or pink for mouth, green for eyes. I used Redheart Super Saver Solids.
Other materials: small amount fibrefill or other stuffing; bodkin/yarn needle; button
Hooks: HAT: 5 mm crochet hook; cat, ghost, spider toppers: 4mm
Sizes: Preemie (about 12”); Newborn (about 14”); 6 month (about 16”); Toddler (about 18”); Child/Youth (about 20”); Adult (about 22”); Large Adult (about 24”).
Gauge: with 5mm hook, measured over double crochet (Canadian/US terms used!): 14 sts/8rows = approx. 4 inches (10 cm)
