My friend Peggy was an inspiration to many. She was a member of my book club, garden club, social club and even encouraged me to join her fitness group. She never let her diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis hold her back. Even when she dealt with breast cancer, most likely acquired because of her MS medicine, she was always a cheerleader for her friends. But Covid was one thing Peggy could not bounce back from. I will never forget the day I presented Peggy with a prayer shawl I had knit for her. A knitter herself, she was thrilled to receive it, saying it was the “best gift ever.” I know Peggy would love having this prayer shawl design named for her, especially if it brightens the lives of others.
