In response to Nancy Pelosi’s recent comments and a call to action/protest outside her residence tomorrow as a result, I’m inspired to share my version of what’s been called a “pink p$sy hat.“

I’d been meaning to knit an ironic one in the colors of the P@lestinian flag after remarking on the notable absence of these hats and their Yt female faces, but the red triangle and non-reversible design made it tricky.

This pattern is intentionally easy so it can be made fast & customized for any number of uses/events. Just keep in mind any writing or designs get warped when it’s worn on a head. The hat is knit flat, then folded in half, and seamed up the sides. If switching colors, leave long tails so you can seam in the same color.
Actual stitch/row counts usually vary to match the colors/pattern needed: 11 stripes for Pride️‍ (12 but 2 are the red/top of the hat), 5 stripes for Trans (6 but 2 are the same), etc.

My standard is to hold Red Heart Saver double, which knits up bulky or super bulky. This and big knitting needles are key to the fast make.
