Pencil Bookmark
This bookmark is a perfect gift for a teacher or classmate and they only take me around 30 minutes each to make. The pattern is written in American crochet terms and uses single crochet (sc) and half double crochet (hdc) stitches. You will also need to know how to work into the front and back posts (fphdc & bphdc).
You will need:
4-ply (equivalent to sport weight) or DK weight (equivalent to light worsted weight) yarn of your choice in yellow, light grey, dark grey, pink & beige. Depending on the weight of yarn that you use, your bookmark will turn out bigger or smaller…
For example, using DMC Natura 4-ply Cotton with a 2.5mm hook results in a bookmark that is 19cm long & 4cm wide. Using Patons Smoothie DK weight yarn with a 3.5mm hook results in a bookmark that is 24.5cm long & 5.5cm wide.
A suitable size hook for the yarn you have chosen (the hook sizes that I used are detailed above).
Other tools you will need are a tapestry needle and some scissors.
You are welcome to sell the items that you make using this pattern, but please do not sell / share the pattern itself. Thank you.
