Notes:
This would be considered an intermediate skill level pattern. It is made mostly by single crochet, but you must have a clear understanding of single crochet increase/decrease as well as color
work/tapestry crochet. You will use a 3.50 mm crochet hook to make the beak. The rest of the project will be made using the 5.00 mm crochet hook.
Materials:
-5.00 mm crochet hook
-3.50 mm crochet hook
-Premier Parfait Chunky yarn
-White felt
-Black felt
-Scissors
-Yarn needle
-Sewing pins/Safety pins
-Hot glue gun and glue sticks
-Poly-fil stuffing
-Stitch marker
Let’s Talk Yarn!
You will be using #6 super bulky yarn for this project. Use any brand or color you desire! Colors are totally up to you! I used Premier Parfait Chunky in the colors Black, Seal, and Tangerine for the beak/feet.
Final Measurements:
Your finished penguin will measure 7 1/2 inches tall. Your finished penguin will measure 6 inches from arm to arm!
Abbreviations:
-Ch: chain
-Sl st: slip stitch
-Sc: single crochet
-Inc: increase
-Dec: decrease
-Bo: Bobble stitch
-Hdc: half double crochet
Gauge:
6 sc stitches by 6 rows = 2 inches when using a 5.00 mm crochet hook and Parfait Chunky yarn.
