Penn Cove, the picturesque body of water in our quaint island village of Coupeville, WA, was the inspiration for this hat. This close fitting hat has the seed stitch texture of our pebbly beach, along with a smooth stockinette section symbolizing our (usually!) calm cove waters. The hat has a seed stitch brim, which is both stretchy and form fitting, perfect for windy days, hikes on the beach or in the mountains. This pattern includes a bonus: It is written in both DK and Worsted weight. Want a lightweight hat for cool spring/summer evenings? This is the perfect hat!

This DK pattern uses a #5 needle for loose knitters and #6 needles for tighter knitters. The Worsted weight hat uses #6 and #7 needles.
