The Penwith sweater is worked in the round, in an easily memorised pattern and a colourway that evokes the brilliance of a foam-tipped sea around Cornwall. I used Sirri yarn for this design, a pure wool Faroese yarn.

Three sizes are given, chest 92 (102) 112 cm/36” (40”) 44”, using 300 (400) 400 g of background colour and 100 g of contrast colour for all three sizes, at a tension of 19 sts x 24 rounds to 10 cm colourwork st st on 5 mm needles.

The neck is worked using a steek, but you can also adjust to work it back and forth from the neck upwards, particularly if your yarn choice does not lend itself to steeking.
