After a long winter, I love watching the leaves begin to turn green and the flowers start bloom. The hot pink speckles in the contrast color yarn reminded me of the bright pink peonies blooming among the green leaves of spring.

This half-circle shawl incorporates three simple lace patterns in bands of solid and speckled sock yarn. With only a few increase rows, and easily memorized stitch patterns, the pattern works up quickly in fingereing weight yarn.

The shawl is worked from the top-down beginning with a circular cast-on. Rows of increases are worked at intervals to create the half-circle shape.

Instructions for carrying the color not in use up the side, or cutting and reattaching the contrast color yarn are included in the pattern.
