Pepe Hat is a simple hat, a piece of cake, a very very basic hat, and made up in a flash too. It is knit in the round in stocking stitch using super bulky weight yarn and has a ribbed 1x1 hem.

In the sample shown here I used Adriafil Pepe yarn, a(n expensive) blend of wool and acrylic enriched by soft slubs which create small pompoms on the surface of the finished garment. The loveliness of the yarn ‘conceals’ the simplicity of the knitting, making the pattern ideal for last-minute gifts.

over stocking st using size 9mm // US 13 needles

Materials

• 1 ball of super bulky weight yarn (approximately 100 gr. // 54.7 yds)
• 1 set of size 9 mm // US 13 dpns or circular needles of the same size at least 40 cm / 16” long
• 1 stitch marker
• 1 tapestry needle
