---- “PEPPERMINT CANDY” SQUARES ----

• Written in US terms.

• Squares pictured made with Lion Brand Mandala Ombre in various colorways. (Cakes were deconstructed into separate colors.)

• Size H hook.

• Squares measure approx. 6” × 6”.

• Squares can also be made with worsted weight yarn and a size K hook. (Will of course measure larger.)

• Stitch count = 23 stitches per side.

Pattern includes instructions for “Peppermint Candy” Squares with PUFF CENTERS.

Sample Blanket Construction Notes: Blanket squares were joined with a “tight join” using SC. (Lion Brand Wool Ease in Natural Heather.) Then a border of DC was done all around, making 2 DC, ch 2, 2 DC in the corners. Next one round of Moss Stitch was done with the same color. Then two rounds of Moss Stitch in two different accent colors were done. The last two rounds of Moss Stitch were done with the Natural Heather. Upon this base of Moss Stitch is my “Rick Rack Border”.

“RICK RACK BORDER” Working on a foundation of Moss/Linen Stitch. Its SS, DC, SS worked in chain 1 space. Skip next stitch. SS in next chain 1 space. SS in next stitch. SS, DC, SS in next chain 1 space. Continue all around, making 2 SS, DC, 2 SS in EACH CORNER. SS = Slip Stitch.
