Peppermint Christmas Ornaments
These cute little Peppermint Christmas Ornaments are fast and easy to work up, making them perfect for a last minute project! They use scraps of red and white yarn so they’re an excellent way to use up scraps leftover from other projects.
Yarn and Other Materials
The pattern calls for a 4.0mm (G) hook and a small amount of red and white worsted weight yarn, but it can be made with any weight of yarn - just adjust the hook size accordingly.
Gauge
Gauge is not included in the pattern as the ornament is smaller than a gauge swatch.
Size
Adjustable. The ornament can be made with just two rounds for a smaller size or three rounds for a larger version. When made with worsted weight the smaller ornament measures approximately 2” across and the large ornament measures approximately 3” across.
Skills required
sl st, ch, dc, switching colors
Construction
The ornament is worked in the round to form a circular disc. It’s worked in one piece, changing colors as needed. The striped sections are worked to minimize the need for weaving in ends, so you’ll only have one end for each color at the start and finish of the ornament.
