Peppermint Mocha Deer
Thank you so much for checking out my peppermint mocha deer! Play around with your color choices to make your own unique, sweet treat! Using the yarn & hook sizes indicated, my deer worked up to be about 11 inches (Premier Parfait Chunky), 6.5 inches (worsted acrylic), 16 inches (bernat blanket) tall. I have tight tension though and many of my testers’ creations worked up much bigger!
As with most amigurumi, this pattern can be worked up in any yarn you choose. Just be sure to select a matching hook size for your yarn. Keep in mind, the yarn you select for the reindeer should be larger than the antler yarn or your proportions will be off. For example, I used a 6 weight yarn (premier parfait chunky works up more like a 5, in my opinion) for the reindeer, and a 4 weight yarn for the antlers. If making the body in worsted weight, use crochet thread 10 for the antlers & a 1.75 mm hook. The pattern includes adjustments for Bernat Blanket so you can still use worsted weight acrylic for the smaller bits.
This pattern is worked mostly in continuous rounds, but a couple parts are worked in rows.
