Pequod - Double Brim Slouchy Beanie - Knitting Pattern
For this pattern you will need 135-140 yards of any Aran weight yarn. I used Lion Brand Heartland in Great Smoky mountains.
You will also need 5mm (US 8) 16” circular needles, or dpns as preferred.
Each of my patterns are named after some literary element - whether a fictional character, place, or an entire book. All of the books I use are Public Domain in the United States, and are generally available for free online. They also should all be available in your local public library (unless there’s a waiting list)! this one is named after Moby Dick by Herman Melville.

If you want to listen while you’re knitting, you can find incredible audio here: http://www.mobydickbigread.com/ Moby Dick Big Read was a project by artist Angela Cockayne and writer Philip Hoare, and brought together 135 contemporary artists to each read one chapter. You can listen to it on the website, or find it as a podcast on your platform of choice.
