Peregrine was named for my favorite bird of prey. These incredible falcons are world travelers and can be seen on almost any continent, migrating across the globe as they deem necessary. As a creature that can also pass between the veil of the living and the dead, they often bring messages to us from the other side. Celtic folklore regards the peregrine as an omen to tread carefully, to keep our eyes open to possible danger, and to look within for guidance. They teach us clarity of mind, to be perceptive to that which may not be right in front of us, so that we may embrace our own strength and courage.

This extra long scarf is knit with an intricate Shetland lace stitch on one side and contrasting stripes on the other, with edges that taper down to points. The lace is challenging, but not impossible, so it’s fairly quick to whip up once you get into a rhythm. There are also some modifications to make it longer or wider!
