Summer is coming!
I have worked out this pattern to find the perfect fit. Purchased fly bonnets never color matched my saddlecloth or my horse’s bandages or coat color. It bothered me that you always had to put the front mane under the bonnet. I think that is very uncomfortable for the horse. So I designed this fly bonnet: it’s knitted, not crocheted. It has a hole for the mane and an ergonomically shaped wide band in the neck. Both contribute to the fact that the fly bonnet stably lies under the bridle and does not slip.

The fly bonnet can be easily adapted to any size: simply adjust the length of the ears made of cotton fabric (pattern included). This pattern suits most Warmbloods, Quarter Horses, OTTBs etc.

You also need some cotton fabric and needle and thread to sew on. I sew the ears with the sewing machine, that’s easy and goes fast. I use 4mm rocailles beads, but the fly bonnet can also be knitted without. When finished stream iron from WS.

This pattern is for personal use alone. It is not allowed to sell fly bonnets from this pattern or to use them for commercial purposes.

Der Sommer kommt!
Ich habe diese Anleitung ausgetüftelt, um endlich eine passende Fliegenmütze zu haben. Gekaufte Fliegenohren haben nie zur Satteldecke, den Bandagen oder der Farbe meines Pferdes gepasst. Außerdem hat mich immer gestört, dass ich den Schopf meines Ponys immer darunter quetschen musste - ich selbst stelle mir das sehr unbequem vor - noch dazu im Sommer.
Diese Mütze ist gestrickt, nicht gehäkelt! Sie hat ein Schopfloch für die Mähne (passt für “wenig” bis “Shire”!) und ein ergonomisch geformtes breites Nackenband. Beides sorgt dafür, dass sie Mütze gut unter der Trense sitzt und nicht wegfliegt.
Diese Fliegenmütze zu stricken macht süchtig! Wähle andere Farben, andere Ohren, einen anderen Rand, andere Perlen und kreiere deine individuelle Fliegenmütze die perfekt zu deinem Outfit passt!

Die Mütze kann leicht an unterschiedliche Pferde angepasst werden, indem lediglich die Länge der Ohren variiert wird. Diese Anleitung passt den meisten Warmblütern, Quarter Horses und Trabern.

Du brauchst zur Fertigstellung noch einen leichten Baumwollstoff und Nähgarn für die Ohren. Ich habe sie mit der Nähmaschine eingenäht, das geht ganz fix. Die Perlen sind 4 mm Rocailles, man kann die Mütze aber natürlich auch ohne BlingBling stricken. Nach Fertigstellung die Mütze von links Bügeln.
