This pullover was a challenge to me as a designer! Not that it is difficult in any way - it’s more that it contrasts with my normal field of designs. This time I really wanted to make something loose-fitting and in bolder colors. When working it I came to think about a lighthouse and the fascinating contrasts between light and shadow. I realized that the more different color I would choose for this pullover - the more dramatic it would be. In the opposite end, with more subtle tones it would still be interesting and beautiful.
The shape and pattern of this pullover is very simple. The body is straight and a bit boxy, the sleeves are also straight. Cowl is generous with a buttonhole-band stretching from start to end of height. This gives extra warmth ad cosiness. The pullover is perfect on it’s own or as a layering piece. The knittingpart shouldn’t give you too much worries. It is knitted in the round and bottom-up to armholes, then sleeves are worked in the round at double-pointed needles and the parts are assembled to be worked together for the raglan-shaping. Front neck is shorter than in the back - for the last few rounds raglan is knitted back and forth. In the end you pick up stiches for the cowl neck, which is worked back and forth. The finishing work is limited to a short seam under each arm.
