Perfectly Preserved Peonies
I designed these flowers for my sister’s wedding bouquets. She wanted something that would never wither, like her love. Please join me for a group “Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww…”
After we released pictures of the flowers we had a ton of requests for the pattern and I’m super excited to be bringing it to you just in time for Mother’s Day 2014. I made them with Cascade 220, but you could honestly make these with just about any yarn. And they don’t take much yardage so these make a fantastic stash buster, and look awesome with tons of different fibers in the bouquet.
You will be asked to work increases, yarnovers, i-cords (instructions included for making an i-cord), and in the round.
The pattern calls for beads for the center of the flower and florist’s wire for the stems (the wire can be found at almost any craft store). These are optional. The wire simply gets inserted in the stem after you’ve made the flower and makes it stand up straight.
I would classify this as an intermediate difficulty level.
If you have any questions, or difficulties while making the flowers please feel free to reach out to me at megan-anne@lattesandllamas.com!
Edit: In the pattern for the base of the flower the bold print calls for repeats of rows 17 and 18. This should read to repeat rows 15 and 16.
