Pernille Scarf and Shawl
Pernille Scarf and Shawl
The pattern has some lovely, repetitive stitches, and will be finished in no time. You make the shell border as you go.
This pattern consists of 4 parts; Set up, increase, decrease and closing. You will find both charts, pictures and a written instruction. It’s a great project for beginners!
The pattern is dedicated to Pernille. She is a mother of 3 and the young founder of Oslo Mikrospinneri where they produce wool yarn from local Norwegian sheep farmers. She unfortunatly suffered a tragic working accident and lost her hand in a machine. Despite of all, she continues to work, producing great yarn! The pattern came to life while I was thinking of her and admiring her courage and positive attitude. Don’t give up on your dream!
All income for the pattern during June 2020 will be donated to Pernille and her work.
I’ve made several scarves with different yarn weight and hook size.
I made the scarf using 345 m of «Alpaca 2» from Isager Yarn (50g/250m), with hook size 4 mm. A luxurious and cosy scarf! It measures 190 cm after blocking.
You can make the Pernille Scarf in any kind of yarn you like (cotton, acrylic, merino, alpaca, linen). Use fingering yarn weight and hook size 4 mm for a scarf with a nice drape.
If you want a bigger scarf, you can use sport yarn weight and hook size 4,5 – 5 mm.
