This is a cowl I designed to use handspun gradient skeins of yarn. It is a fairly simple 2 colour brioche cowl designed for worsted weight yarn. You could use virtually any weight of yarn to make this, and it doesnt need to be handspun. You would just need to calculate your gauge and adjust your stitch count. This makes this pattern very versatile for different sizes.

I prefer a larger, deeper cowl to wrap around myself in winter, but you can always make yours smaller if you wish. Just knit fewer brioche rounds and/or use fewer stitches.

I tried to keep the pattern fairly simple to allow for the colour of the yarn to do the talking rather than a complex stitch pattern. I personally recommend a solid colour for the CC and a hand dyed yarn for the MC but you can always experiment with this and come up with the combination that works for you.

For the pictured cowl, I used a 5mm needle with approx 730yds of worsted weight yarn.
