The perseidas top is a halter top-down knitting design. It is first knitted flat and then in the round for the body. You can customise the length for a cropped or longer version and you can choose the straps too. It is a quick and easy knit for a confident beginner. It is a perfect de-stashing project and it is good for summer and also for any time around if you layer it too. It looks simple but hides some techniques to make it a fun knit and hopefully learn something new!

The peresidas top is named after the perseids meteor showers coming from the constellation Perseus, which occur from the 17th of July until the 24th of August. This time represents the time from when I started with the perseidas top concept, the development, knit and test knit process.

Choosing your size and fit: The Perseidas top is designed to have approx. 25 cm 10 inches of negative ease, meaning that you need to subtract 25 cm 10 inches to your actual bust circumference for your finished top bust circumference. Before beginning your project measure yourself with a measuring tape around your bust to determine which size will fit you best. If you are between sizes, please size up. The top is designed to be customised so you can knit a cropped or longer version. If your would like to add more length, consider the additional yarn.

Yarn:
150 (150) 150 (150) 200 (200) 250 g * Cropped version- Additional yarn will be required for a longer top (+/- 50g depending on size/length)
Happy Shiny cotton– Wool and the gang - 100g = 142m (Alternatively, the cotton from WAK, Drops Paris, Egyptian cotton, Lily cotton sugar’n cream, yarn lovers or any Aran/ Worsted weight yarn.)

Materials:
-4.5 mm US 7 circular needles with 60, 24 inches cable
-3.5 mm US 4 circular needles and DPNs
-1 stitch marker
-Measuring tape and scissors
-Tapestry needle to weave in the ends

Gauge: 18 sts x 25 rows = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 inches in stockinette stitch on 4.5 mm needles.
