Persephone Wrap
About the Persephone Wrap
This pattern began as an idea to create something filled with summer, sunshine and nature. I wanted a knitted piece that felt like it perfectly fits in with the beautiful nature in the northern summer. You as always have several sleeve options to choose from and several cast offs at your disposal within this pattern.
The wrap begins from the top, as it is crafted to have a top-down construction. It starts off with the shoulders, employing a wedge shoulder technique and German short-rows to shape and create a seamless and comfortable fit. As the body of the wrap unfolds, decreases are incorporated to achieve waist shaping.
enhancing the garment’s flattering silhouette. After completing the waist, you are presented with a delightful choice of two different cast-off methods, allowing you to tailor the final look according to your personal preference. The peddle lace pattern on the sleeves completes a delightfully summery look with either a beautiful bell sleeve or a gorgeous puff sleeve version.
Size Guide
The Persephone wrap is designed with a negative ease ranging from roughly -4 to -14. This deliberate choice ensures a beautifully snug and fitted blouse, capitalizing on the inherent stretchability of knitted fabrics. The wrap has a forgiving size range making it possible for the sizes to have a larger range than indicated in the pattern.
The sweater can both be knitted as a fitted blouse or a larger size can be chosen to have a looser fit. If a looser fit is chosen I recommend around 5 cm of positive ease as it would otherwise possibly slip off the shoulder.
I knitted the wrap version in a size 3 for myself. I have a bust circumference of 95 cm.
