My mum knitted my siblings and I personalised Christmas stockings from a pattern in a magazine in the 70s. The pattern has since been lost, but I wanted to carry on the tradition for my children, so I came up with this pattern. The motif section is knitted flat and then the stocking is joined and worked in the round from just above the heel.

There are charts included for the snowman motif and an alphabet chart for names.

The pattern is initially worked flat and then joined and worked in the round, so you will need straight and dpn or circular needles. Any DK yarn can be used.
