Materials
5.5mm hook
Worsted/aran yarn
as a guide I used approximately
Colour A 400g Grey WI soft and smooth aran from Hobbycraft and
Colour B 150g Hayfield spirit dk in ‘Melody’ but how much yarn you need will depend on the number of squares you make
Scissors
Glue
Printed out alphabet and required charts
Yarn Needle

Abbreviations
ch chain
st/s stitch/es
sl st slip stitch
dc double crochet
Htr half treble crochet, tlHtr Third loop half treble crochet: see Melu Crochet Guide: Half Treble crochet (htr) on page 12
Bobble Yarn over, insert into indicated stitch, yarn over, pull through, yarn over, pull through 2 (two loops left on hook) Repeat four more times until there are 6 loops on your hook, yarn over, pull through all loops on hook. Gauge
14st and 16 rows in dc = 10cm/4in
Using a 5.5mm hook or size needed to obtain tension. This is a guide for sizing and drape but pattern will work if gauge is different.

Size
The size of your square will be approximately 25cm x 25cm if using aran weight yarn.
The patterns will work with any yarn size, just use the hook that has been recommended for your yarn. The blanket, if using aran yarn and arranged as 3x4 squares will be approximately 90x115cm.
Squares can be arranged in different combinations to truly personalise your project.
