The pattern specifies:
Size: S (M, L, XL) to fit chest 14 (16, 22, 26)“ / 35.5 (40.5, 56, 66) cm
Finished size: 18 (21, 28, 31.5)“ / 46 (53.5, 71, 80) cm chest circumference; 12 (16, 21, 23)” / 30.5 (40.5, 53.5, 58.5) cm length. The sweater pictured in the book is a Medium (21” / 53.5 cm chest), and is knit in Classic Elite Maya, a llama and wool blend yarn. The pattern information begins on page 66. The pattern includes 9 graphs for the color work.
Yarn: Heavy worsted weight yarn,
- approximately 200 (200, 300, 300) yards / 183 (183, 275, 275 m) purple
- approximately 100 yards (92 meters) each of pear, peony pink, gold, dark orange, blue, azure.
Needles:
- Size 7 / 4.5 mm: 16” / 40.5 cm circular
- Size 8 / 5 mm: 16” / 40.5 cm circular (for larger sizes, a 24” / 61 cm circular needle for the body may be preferable).
- Size 4 / 3.5 mm: 1 set double-pointed needles.
Adjust needle sizes if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Additional notions:
Tapestry needle, stitch markers, row counter (optional); 2 cardboard circles (2” / 5 cm in diameter with approximately .75” / 2 cm circle cut out of the middle) for making pompoms.
Gauge. 18 stitches and 22 rounds = 4” / 10 cm using size 8 (5 mm) needles in jacquard stockinette stitch (unblocked); 17 stitches and 22 rounds = 4” / 10 cm after blocking; 18 stitches and 32 rounds = 4” /10 cm in circular garter stitch.
