Petal Ash
My new collection called Naturebook includes designs based on simple beauties drawn from nature.
I have always loved the look of dried flowers, especially roses, though I no longer have them in my home (hard to clean, right?). The color I used for my sample brings fond memories of earlier days when I had various arrangements of them, and the energy to dust them!.
This intermediate level knitted shawl is worked in an arrow shape from the right tip. It features a modified petal motif lace, with a tiny 2-stitch cable concealing the center decreases. The cable is worked on the wrong side, without a cable needle.
Worked from either charts or the full written instructions, it is easily resizable, the design is suitable for lace to DK weight yarns. Be sure to adjust yardage requirements when making substitutions.
Materials used for sample (weighs 133g):
CoopKnits Socks Yeah! (fingering weight)
3 skeins Axinite
1 movable stitch marker
a row counter is helpful for this pattern
Acknowledgements:
The lace includes elements of a stitch pattern found in the 1000 Knitting Stitch Patterns.
