This is my petal patch motif, an alternative to the traditional granny square! Use it for blankets and cushions, bags to even scarfs.
I made mine in dk weight yarn but I don’t see why it can’t be made in a different weight, it would be interesting to see how it comes out. I did use a slightly larger hook than I would normally for dk yarn as I think it needed a looser tension probably because there are loads of stitches in the square. I recommend you do a test square and experiment with different size hooks to check out how the tension works out.
