Petals and Lace is a seamless, top-down sweater with raglan shaping after the colorwork yoke. It has a versatile gauge of 21 stitches by 30 rounds in 4” (10 cm) squared. The pattern offers options for a high-low hem, short or long sleeves, and different necklines, with or without short rows. I designed Petals and Lace to remind us of our favorite flowers. Garnering inspiration from Bohus Stickning knitting, I used both knit and purl stitches in the colorwork yoke. The pattern features an “organic” colorwork motif that allows variegated yarn to shine. For knitters who prefer a more geometric design, I offer an alternate chart that is well-suited to both variegated and solid or tonal colorways.

Knit in a cotton blend with short sleeves, Petals and Lace makes a beautiful garment for milder seasons. Knit in heavier wool, it becomes an equally attractive cold weather garment. Mix and match design elements to customize your own sweater in this easy to follow pattern that has been tested in sport weight through worsted weight yarn.
