Meet Peter Penguin, an adorably chubby little guy who loves to play in igloos and glide over ice! He is very simple to make, and any beginner can tackle this guy as their first amigurumi project! All of his parts are made separately and then sewn together at the end. A small amount of black and white felt will be needed for his eyes.

Yarn needed to make him:

  • less than half a ball of worsted weight black yarn (I used Red Heart Super Saver Solids)
  • about 20 yards of worsted weight orange yarn for feet and beak (I used Red Heart Super Saver Solids “Pumpkin”)
  • about 10 yards of worsted weight white yarn for tummy patch (I used Red Heart Super Saver Solids)

You will need to know how to:

  • single crochet
  • increase and decrease
  • slip stitch
  • chain
  • work in continuous rounds
  • work in an oval (there are great YouTube videos that can explain how to do this if you do not know how to)
  • make a magic ring or use the ch2 method (ch2 method explained in pattern)
