Petit Jardin cardigan
This cute, little cardigan is a reminder of spring - being just around the corner! With its small leaves and trellis patterns it recalls the wonders of le petit jardin (and big gardens, parks, forests…) and everything we have in front of us in the coming months. (Well, I speak about the northern hemisphere..).
Design and construction
The cardigan features a round yoke with lots of stitch-patterns, a hem worked in honeycomb-pattern and an i-cord bind-off, cuffs are worked in a simple eyelet-pattern and finished off in rib-pattern.
The fit is classic; crew-neck, button-bands…
The cardigan is worked top-down and seamlessly.

Materials
Yarn: I recommend that you use a fingering weight yarn with great stitch-definition. I used the fingering weight yarn, ”Uncommon Everyday”, in colour fe2O3, from the Uncommon thread, to work the cardigan. This yarn comes in skeins of 400 m/436 yards. You will need approximately 260/320/400/520/660 m = 285/350/440/570/720 yards to work the cardigan. Needles: Choose needle size to obtain gauge. I used needle size 3 mm/US2.5, this is a suggestion only.
Gauge
28 sts and 38 - 40 rows in stockinette/stitch-patterns = 10 x 10 cm/4x4”.
The pattern
The stitch-patterns are written out, row-by-row.
(please note that there is no chart, as the pattern-repeats are very short).
There is a schematic.
All necessary stitchcounts are given. Measurements are given in cm’s as well as in inches.
Knitting skills: intermediate.
