When I was a little girl, in Normandy, my grand-mother used to say “Il fait un peu froid, mets une petite laine”, which means “It’s getting chilly, put a sweater on.” It was her words, but the translation of “petite laine” is “little yarn” or “little wool” in fact. Since this time, any kind of sweater is for me a “petite laine” and I found it a nice name for this one.
This cardigan is knitted top down, almost seamlessly. It is quite simple, but with charming details: most of the increases are made with the rows of « stars », so they are decorative and go unnoticed even if you choose to make the entire cardigan in the same color. A little box pleat on the back makes it more “chic” and enlarges it for more ease.
Optional: short rows to shape the neck opening.

Cette Petite Laine est tricotée de haut en bas (top-down) en une seule pièce. C’est un modèle simple, avec des explications détaillées, mais de jolis détails en font le charme: lignes d’étoiles de couleurs et pli creux au dos.
Pour compliquer un peu la chose, si vous le souhaitez, des rangs raccourcis pour creuser l’encolure devant.
