Petricor
Petricor is the fifth design of my Einaudi Collection, a series of knitwear designs inspired by pieces of music by the composer Ludovico Einaudi. The music of Petricor is minimalist yet atmospheric, with simple repeated musical patterns that combine and grow in intensity as the piece progresses to its climax before fading away. In the same way, the colourwork of my Petricor design combines simple repeating patterns that grow in complexity towards the middle of the sweater and then fade out in the lower body and sleeves. The resulting design is sparse yet striking.
SAMPLE
The wearer is 5’10” with a 37” chest circumference. The sample has been worked in size L, giving the wearer 7.5” / 19cm of positive ease at the chest. The yoke depth has been increased by ~0.5” / 1.5cm by working 4 rounds of Body Colourwork Chart 1 before separating for body and sleeves. The sleeves have been worked without the optional Sleeve Circumference Extension.
