The hat can be done as a separate item or as part of a set, to go with Petronela shawl and Petronela fingerless mitts or Petronela mittens.

Each of the items of the set features the same pattern element - the cable, and each can be done either in the same or in different yarns. What’s important while knitting mittens / mitts and hat is the gauge, choose yarn that meets it to avoid problems with size.

Size: The pattern is written in six sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL, to fit head circumference of approx. 18 (19 ½, 21, 22 ½, 24, 25 ½)’’ / 45,5 (49, 53, 57, 60,5, 64,5) cm. My Petronela is a beanie but it can be worked as a slouch hat as well.

The size can also be adjusted by going up or down a needle size, or by changing the yarn weight and adjusting the needles accordingly.

Yarn suggested: DK that meets the gauge, 50 – 80g. My Petronela is done in Garnstudio Drops Lima (65% wool, 35% alpaca, 50g = 109 yards / 100m), I did size M and used up the whole 50g skein.

Level: Adventurous beginner or intermediate. The hat is knit in the round.

Czapka i rękawiczki / mitenki powinny być wydziergane z włóczki, która umożliwia otrzymanie podanej próbki, szal może być zrobiony z innej włóczki, nie koniecznie tej samej grubości i wtedy dodatkowym elementem łączącym wszystkie elementy może być pompon w kolorze szala.

Rozmiar: wzór jest rozpisany na 6 rozmiarów: XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL tak, żeby pasowały na obwód głowy 45,5 (49, 53, 57, 60,5, 64,5) cm. Moja Petronela jest w wersji zwykłej czapki, ale można ją również wykonać jako krasnalkę.

Rozmiar można też dostosować wybierając grubszą lub cieńszą włóczkę oraz zmieniając rozmiar drutów.

Sugerowana włóczka: każda, która pozwoli otrzymać podaną próbkę. W zależności od rozmiaru 50 – 80g. Moja Petronela (rozmiar M) powstała z Limy Dropsa (65% wełna, 35% alpaka, 50g = 100m), zużyłam na nią cały motek.
