The petticoat illustrated is worked in a crochet stitch which has the effect of pique striped with plisse rows worked between. The material required is 20 oz. of unbleached knitting cotton No. 2, or its equivalent in any kind of wool preferred by the worker.
The lower part of the skirt is 20 in. deep, then in the upper edge of this the cross striped part 5¾ in. deep, fulled into a round stuff band 3 in. wide.
