Petunia The Gardening Teddy Bear is a beautiful old style teddy bear with a nice full tummy. She is a special teddy to treasure for young and old alike. She comes with patterns for a range of accessories: a hat (her ears stick through the hat), scarf, basket, flower patch, and watering can.
Petunia The Gardening Teddy Bear is 25cm or 10 inches when sitting. The Basket is 9cm or 3.5 inches long, 6cm or 2.5 inches wide, and 10cm or 4 inches tall including the handle. The watering can is 14cm or 5.5 inches long, 6cm or 2.5 inches wide, and 6cm or 2.5 inches tall. The flowers are 9cm or 3.5 inches long, 6cm or 2.5 inches wide, and 2.5cm or 1 inch tall.
Materials needed: 3.5mm or 4US knitting needles, 2 x 3.5mm or 4US double pointed knitting needles, 60g or 2.2oz Elle Cotton Fleck Double Knit Yarn in colour Orion (011), 30g or 1.1oz Elle Cotton Fleck Double Knit Yarn in colour Aspen (014), 15g or 0.5oz beige double knit yarn, 15g or 0.5oz light grey double knit yarn, 5g or 0.2oz green double knit yarn, small amount of double knit yarn in the following colours: pale rose, light pink, white, and light blue, stitch holder, stuffing, 12mm purple safety eyes, small piece of white felt, 2 fake eyelashes, 15mm black safety nose, black embroidery thread, cardboard, clear adhesive, protractor, and pencil.
Methods used: Cast on using the thumb method, cast on using the 2 needle method, knit, purl, M1R - Make 1 Right - Make 1 stitch by picking up the bar in between two stitches from back to front and knitting into the front of it, M1L - Make 1 Left - Make 1 stitch by picking up the bar in between two stitches from front to back and knitting into the back of it, KFB - Knit into the front and the back of the stitch, PFB - Purl into the front and the back of the stitch, SKPO - Slip one stitch knit wise, knit one stitch, pull the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, K2tog - Knit 2 stitches together as 1, P2tog - Purl 2 stitches together as 1, cast off, I-cord - knit a cord using two double pointed needles.
