The idea for this costume sweater came from the 18th century version of the Icelandic peysufatapeysa, which is, in Margrét Linda Gunnlaugsdóttir’s mind, the truest version of the Icelandic national costume.
Cette veste est inspirée du peysufatapeysa, le costume porté par les femmes en Islande au 18ème siècle et qui est, selon sa créatrice Margrét Linda Gunnlaugsdóttir, la version la plus traditionnelle du costume national.
Hugmyndin að peysufatapeysunni er fengin frá 18. aldar peysufötum sem eru að mati Margrétar Lindu Gunnlaugsdóttur þjóðlegasti búningur íslenskra kvenna.
Errata 15.11.2010: Sleeve, English version only: some extra lines to be ignored and removed: Work in stocking st for 7 rnds, then inc. 2 sts (one after the 1st and one before the last st) every7 rnds 5(6,6,7,7,8,8) times = 41(43,45,47,49,51,53,55) sts.
