Tweed stitch in crochet goes by many names, including moss, linen, granite and seed stitch. Whatever you call it, the stitch is easy to work and creates a handsome woven texture. The fabric is reversible, an important feature in a scarf.

Tweed stitch works especially well with variegated yarns. So often, these yarns look beautiful on the skein but disappoint when worked up. The interlacing of tweed stitch, however, allows that special skein of yarn to realize its full glory.

Pattern is written in US crochet terms and is rated Easy, requiring only ch, sc and dc stitches. Written instructions and charts are included, as well as a photo tutorial showing the details of the stitch pattern.

The Pheasant Scarf is part of the Malabrigo Quickies program.
