This is the third exclusive pattern from the Women of Sci-Fi Collection

A pair of gauntlets inspired by Captain Philippa Georgiou from Star Trek: Discovery.

Philippa is a great Captain, she can be relaxed and playful but asserts her authority when needed. I chose to design some relaxed fit gauntlets, made up of bands of garter stitch and a playful lace stitch. Just as we get to know and love the Captain, she’s taken away from us and we are later introduced to Emperor Georgiou in the mirror universe. To represent this twist, we turn our knitting to the side and work a different way than before. A cable is introduced to show the twists and turns of the story arc.

Using 50gof fingering weight yarn, these gauntlets are so versatile. You can knit stripes using a single colour or multiple colours. You can add repeats for a longer arm, (make sure you have extra yarn than suggested) or just a couple of repeats for some cuffs.

The size as written is an 17-18cm circumference without stretching. Designed to be slightly loose, but bites are given if you would like a tighter fit.
