These simple gloves are knitted flat and then sewn up the side to finish. Phoebe’s pattern has made glove knitting easy for knitters with experience of basic knit techniques who may not feel ready to approach knitting in the round on double pointed needles.

Sizes:
Ladies - length 27cm. Palm circumference 19cm unstretched. Up to 24cm stretched.
Men - length 28cm. Palm circumference 20cm unstretched. Up to 26cm stretched.

Level:
Medium. This pattern is probably best as a first foray into gloves as the palm and fingers are knitted flat on standard needles, then sewn up the side. Skills needed are cast on, knit, purl, simple increases, simple decreases, cast off, mattress stitch.

Tools needed:
1 x set 3.25mm knitting needles. 1 x set 4mm knitting needles. Stitch markers. Tapestry or large wool needle. Waste wool or stitch holders to hold unworked stitches whilst making fingers.

100g Folkestone Harbour Yarn Merino DK. Mens size shown in ‘Folkestone Blue’. Ladies size shown in ‘Saffron’. Yarn Substitutes: any 150m/50g DK yarn or DK you can achieve the correct gauge with.
