Phoenix Filet Crochet Pattern for Shawl/Wall Hanging PDF File only
The phoenix is an immortal bird associated with Greek mythology that cyclically regenerates or is otherwise born again. Associated with the sun, a phoenix obtains new life by rising from the ashes of its predecessor. Some legends say it dies in a show of flames and combustion, others that it simply dies and decomposes before being born again. What an intriguing and beautifully elegant mythological creature!
We have developed the pattern in different formats to follow: in a grid/block chart pattern to follow throughout, crochet symbols (for the first 5 rows so that you understand how to increase on each row) and written instructions for the first few lines until you get into the swing of it!
The yarn used was a hobbii twister in lovely red, yellow hues, which looks stunning, however you can use any 4 ply yarn to create this adult size shawl.
Knowledge of filet crochet is needed to be able to do this project. Filet crochet is not hard to learn and there are you tube videos to help you out if needed.
