Phoenix illusion chart influenced by Harry Potter.

Illusion knitting or Shadow knitting is very simple but effective method using basic knit stitches.

The illusion is created by combining Knit with Purl stitches in order to create a raised textured surface through positive and negative spaces. This means that you use Knit stitches to create the parts you want to be seen and Purl stitches to emphasise the Knit ridge.

The Scarf when viewed straight looks like stripes but then when seen from a slight angle, the raised purl stitches are seen and the pattern comes to life.

It looks impressive but is very simple to knit, as long as you can knit and purl.
There is a chart and also written instructions.
